Involvement

The Secret Labs designed and hosts the Urban Choice Charter School web site, and we are under retainer to perform regular content updates.

January 2006 to coincide with enrollment for the 2006–07 school year

About the Site

The folks at Urban Choice Charter School were very clear about their goals for their new web site. This made it very easy for us to design a new web site that meets their requirements.

Their specific requests were:

  • Simple, uncluttered—not flashy or razzle-dazzle
  • “Lightweight” for fast loading with traditional phone modems
  • Must work well with older computers and smaller screens
  • Easy navigation
  • Provide for electronic document distribution
  • Increase traffic
  • Increase utility and usability

The target audience is:

  1. Parents of current students
  2. Parents of prospective students
  3. Funding organizations

Features

  • Uses standard-compliant XHTML for structure and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for look and feel, making future redesigns quick, easy and inexpensive.
  • Separate, reduced-color stylesheet for printing saves on parents’ expensive colored ink
