About the Site

Published since 1973 by the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley, The Empty Closet is New York State’s oldest, continuously-published GLBT newspaper. This is the EC’s first step into online publishing.

Goals

  • To expand The Empty Closet’s readership to those who do not subscribe or pick up the paper at local outlets,
  • to extend its reach beyond local community and,
  • to bring news to its readership in a more timely manner than the monthly print edition.
